Begin your holiday in Alice Springs, located almost at the geographical centre of Australia; enjoy an overnight stay before flying to Uluru for an incredible four night hotel stay. Here you’ll relish a fully-escorted range of fascinating tours and experience an enchanting evening at the Field of Light experience; where you’ll revel in breathtaking views of the majestic rock as the sun sets and multi-coloured lights of 50,000 glass spheres come to life. Following your Uluru stay, you’ll be transferred back to Alice Springs for a two night stay before boarding the legendary Ghan for your journey through the Australian Outback. Itinerary

Day 1
Alice Springs - Hotel Stay

Fly into Alice Springs – almost at the geographical centre of Australia. Here you’ll enjoy an overnight hotel stay at the Crowne Plaza Alice Springs Lasseters to discover everything that this beautiful destination has to offer. Rich in heritage and historical sights, Alice Springs presents a wealth of touring experiences including exploring the magnificent McDonnell Ranges, visiting the famous Alice Springs Desert Park, attending ‘A Town Like Alice’ tour or paying a visit to the largest reptile display in the Northern Territory at the Alice Springs Reptile Centre.

Day 2
Uluru - Hotel Stay & Tour

Today you’ll embark on a coach ride to the Uluru Resort where you’ll enjoy a four night hotel stay at the Voyages Desert Gardens Hotel.

During your stay, you’ll discover Uluru, a massive sandstone monolith in the heart of the Northern Territory’s arid “Red Centre”, ahead of your enchanting evening at the Field of Light experience. You’ll begin your memorable encounter with a glass of sparkling wine and delicious canapes as you enjoy the unmistakeable sounds of a didgeridoo, overlooking the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park at sunset.

Indulge in a three-course buffet dinner under the waking night sky and settle in to enjoy the spectacular sights of 50,000 glass spheres coming to colourful life. Following dinner, a knowledgeable guide will provide insights and background to the monumental installation as you immerse yourself in the illumination of the mesmerising Field of Light.

Day 3
Uluru - Hotel Stay & Tour

Deep in the Central Australian desert, in the homeland of the Anangu people, lies Cave Hill. Today you’ll enjoy an exclusive invitation to visit the remote Pitjantjatjara Lands. You will journey by 4WD deep into the desert, passing the formidable Mount Conner, the third largest monolith of the Red Centre.

On arrival you will be greeted by your Aboriginal hosts, the traditional owners of Cave Hill. Experience the culture and history of the Anangu, listen to the teachings from the traditional owners, explore the Aboriginal songlines (stories), and enter the cave to survey the magnificent paintings, the most significant art site in Central Australia.

Day 4
Uluru - Hotel Stay & Tour

Enjoy some free time this morning before your afternoon of touring commences. Accompany the Traditional Uluru Family to their homelands called Patji, located just outside of Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, and spend some time learning about the oldest living culture in the world. Explore this extraordinary environment by 4-Wheel-Drive with your Aboriginal guide, stopping along the journey to hear stories about how Paddy Uluru fought for Aboriginal Lands rights to where Uluru is today. Next, you’ll marvel at the expanse of desert overlooking Uluru and Kata Tjuta while enjoying drinks and light snacks at sunset.

Day 5
Uluru - Hotel Stay & Tour

This morning is free to put your feet up and relax by the pool before the adventure ahead. This afternoon you will enjoy the quintessential Aussie Outback experience and absorb the ambience of the Red Centre; introducing you to life in the desert. Explore Mount Conner, situated on a vast, fully operational, privately owned cattle station called Curtin Springs Station. Here you’ll find the perfect natural habitat for red kangaroos and a vast array of birds and reptiles, as well as discovering an ancient inland salt lake. While you enjoy a glass of sparkling wine, be captivated by the spectacular changing colours of sunset in the Outback. Relish a three-course dinner at Curtin Springs Station before heading back to Ayers Rock Resort.

Days 6 - 7
Alice Springs - Hotel Stay

Take in any last-minute sights this morning before joining your coach transfer to Alice Springs for another two night stay at the Crowne Plaza Alice Springs Lasseters. Head to ANZAC Hill and admire the astounding views of Alice Springs from the Anzac Day memorial or stroll the Olive Pink Botanic Garden and view extensive plant collections.

Day 8
The Ghan

Following your Alice Springs stay, you’ll board the legendary Ghan early evening, for your journey through the Australian Outback. Friendly staff will lead you to your comfortable private cabin where you'll be able to settle in and admire the view outside your window as it begins its spectacular transformation.

Day 9
The Ghan

Upon reaching the Northern Territory you'll enjoy a full breakfast before leaving the train for a day of cultural delights; exploring the pristine wilderness of Katherine, either by land or water.

Cruise the jaw-dropping Nitmiluk Gorge, learn more about its ancient Indigenous rock paintings and gain insight into the culture of the traditional owners of Nitmiluk, the Jawoyn people. Spend the day with the Aboriginal people, sharing their culture, learning their ways and trying activities such as basket weaving, spear throwing, fire lighting and learning the Didgeridoo. Once back on board, indulge in lunch and laughter with your fellow passengers as the train makes its way through the unfolding landscape to arrive in Darwin by the early evening where you’ll disembark for your hotel stay.

Days 10 - 11
Darwin - Hotel Stay & Tour

Enjoy a final day to explore Darwin which is made easier with the Hop-on Hop-off pass we’ve included as part of your package. Whether you want to walk amidst lush jungle in the Botanic Gardens, taste exotic street food at the Mindil Beach Sunset Markets, see crocodiles at Crocosaurus Cove or learn about fascinating local history at the Military Museum; the Darwin Explorer can let you see the sights of the city in ultimate ease. Choose from 60 or 90 minute loops, complimented by informative commentary and simply hop off when you see something that takes your fancy!

Day 12
Fly home

With your Aboriginal discovery complete, you’ll be transferred to the airport for your flight home.
